Be an Ambassador

Want to help us tackle climate change while also having the chance to win cool prizes? Then this is the volunteer program for you! We are looking for enthusiastic, environmentally-minded students to become Ambassadors for this international energy campaign over the academic year 2017/2018.

What is an Ambassador?

An Ambassador promotes the campaign within their colleges. They help run our online photo competitions and quizzes, as well as, working alongside the different societies, such as Green campus, to encourage students to save energy and live a sustainable lifestyle . In some cases, this may involve co-hosting events and activities within campus. Becoming an Ambassador will give you the opportunity to get more widely involved in various university and SU events, as well as the national Student Switch Off campaign.

The Ambassador Challenge

We want to reward you for being an SSO Ambassador so every year we run the Ambassador Challenge. For each action you do you get a stamp (or 2 stamps for helping with an event).
If you collect 4 stamps you will receive an official USI reference that could boost your employability and be awarded the title Student Switch Off Ace! We monitor these stamps online, so don’t worry if we can’t come and physically stamp your ambassador card – it still counts!

Skills you will gain:

  •  Leadership
  • Communication
  • Presentation skills and public speaking
  • Time management
  • Event management
  • Problem solving

This is a fantastic chance to be part of an European funded international campaign that will develop your skill base and make a difference on your campus. We will provide training and support throughout the year so that in the future you have a CV that stands out from the competition.
